Biography
Dr. Agieshkumar is researching on vector borne disease. For this PhD thesis he studied the biology of insect vector-parasite interactions and identified some of the vector transcripts that regulate the development of filarial parasites. He had postdoctoral training in the areas of cellular and molecular biology from Texas Tech University (USA) and University of Georgia (USA). There he studied the role of sphingolipid metabolism in the virulence of Leishamaniasis. He started his career as assistant professor in SASTRA University, TamilNadu. He has been researching on vector borne diseases and his current research focus includes dengue pathogenesis, vector control methods and Role of Lipids in the pathogenesis of Leishmania. He has published several papers in international peer reviewed Journals.
