Research Interest

Primary area of research interest: Cancer biology  Study of cell surface receptors and their roles: Studying the interaction of cell surface receptors (integrins, EGFR) with their ligands and their roles in promoting invasion and activating signal transduction cascades in tumour biology.  Cancer cell signalling pathways: Studying the various intracellular signalling pathways which are dysregulated in cancer to promote invasion and metastasis.  Study of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) in relation to cancer: Studying the multiple and crucial roles played by MMPs in tumour invasion and metastasis and correlation of levels of MMP expression and activity with invasive potential in cancer.  Anti-tumorigenic compounds: Studying the anti-tumorigenic and anti-invasive effects of natural compounds on solid tumours and the molecular mechanisms by which such effects are exerted.
