Biography
Graduating from St Xavier’s College, Kolkata, Dr. Panchali Sen went on to complete her M.A. in Political Science from Calcutta University, securing a First Class. Subsequently she worked on her Ph.D thesis†`The Role of the Nonaligned Movement in the post†Cold War years (1990â€2000)’ and has been awarded the degree by Jadavpur University in 2007. She joined the faculty at St.Xavier’s College in 1993.A former Head of Political Science Dept. from July 2009 – June 2013, she is currently Dean, International Studies and Programmes of the College. She is also the Coordinator for the Human Rights’ and Duties Education Course, supported by the UGC. Currently she is also functioning as the Academic Collaborator in the MHRD, GOI Project on Public Administration with the Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMMRC). She has participated in various seminars and has a number of publications to her credit. Her areas of interest and teaching include International Relations, Comparative Politics, Political Sociology and Public Administration.
