Biography
Dr. Christian has 20 years of experience in developing biologic therapeutics with a focus on developing and manufacturing cellular therapies; most recently he developed new production technologies for therapeutic stem cells at Lonza. He has been recognized as Qualified Person (QP) according to EU requirements. Christian has served in responsible positions in both scientific and managerial positions at Lonza , Cytograft (USA), Symetis (Switzerland, Germany), ViaCell (USA), Spectra Stable Isotopes (USA), Martek Biosciences (USA) and Osiris Therapeutics (USA) and has contributed to the development of therapeutics from early research to clinical trials including putting a cellular product on the market. He has widely published in scientific journals, most recently he published on stem cell manufacturing as well as its regulatory implications. He received his postdoctoral training at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratories (USA), carries a Ph.D. from the University of Münster, Germany and the degree of Master of Science (M.Sc.) from the University of Oxford, UK.
