Biography

Prof. Dr. Goverdhan Mehta is Non-Executive Independent Director of Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company Limited. He holds M.Sc. (1963), Ph.D. (1966), D.Sc. (Honoris Causa) is Honorary Professor of Organic Chemistry and Bhatnagar Fellow at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. In the past, he has held important positions as Vice-Chancellor-University of Hyderabad, Ramanujam Research Professor of the Indian National Science Academy, Director -Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and visiting professorships in over a dozen universities all over the world. He has published over 400 research papers in leading international journals and delivered over 300 invited lectures in different parts of the world.
