Anand is working as Assistant Professor in the Centre for Marine Finfish Culture, Mandapam, Ramanathapuram Dt. from December 2014 onwards. He joined the Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University on 29.02.2012 as Assistant Professor and worked in Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi until November 2012. When the Fisheries College and Research Institute was upgraded into Tamil Nadu Fisheries University he worked for Institute of Fisheries Technology, Nagapattinam one of its constituent unit till December 2014. He has eight and half years of working experience in the field of aquaculture especially mariculture. In the past he worked as Assistant Technical Manager in the Grouper Project of Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Aquaculture (RGCA-www.mpeda.com) at Port Blair, Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands for nearly three years where he has worked on the husbandry, breeding and larviculture of the tiger groupers and acquired hands-on experience. Later he joined the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT-www.niot.res.in) as Project Scientist and worked for two years on the breeding and culture of marine finfishes in the Open Sea Cage Culture Programme of NIOT. He has travelled to South-East Asian Countries like Indonesia and Philippines to undertake training on Grouper Hatchery Production and Marine Finfish Culture respectively. He has graduated with a B.F.Sc degree from Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukkudi during 1995-2000. He has completed his post-graduation (M.F.Sc degree in Mariculture) and his doctorate (under Fish and Fishery Science) from Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI-www.cmfri.org.in) at Kochi during 2000-2007 in the state of Kerala, where he has worked on the endocrinological, molecular and genetic aspects of the thornycheek grouper, Epinephelus diacanthus. He is also a Scuba Schools International (SSI) certified open water diver (Licence No: 791197K2205749133616-IN).
