Biography
DK Sundar, chief operating officer – urea business, has an experience of more than 35 years in diverse set of industries including paints, steel, glass, plant protection and industrial chemicals, in addition to the crop nutrition industry. His association with the Tata group has been for the last 15 years and his previous assignment was in Rallis India, another Tata group company, as its chief financial officer. In his current role, he is responsible for the urea plant at Babrala, the Centre for Agri Technology at Aligarh and the sale of all agri inputs in the northern part of India, including DAP, MOP, specialty nutrients, customised fertilisers, seeds, crop protection products, etc., in addition to urea. He also handles the advocacy related issues for both plants and the traded business. Till the recent announcement of the urea business sale, he was responsible for both Haldia and Babrala plants in addition to the traded business with a total top line of about $1.2 billion.
