He retired from active service on 31st May 2013 and has settled in Pune (India). He is now functioning as an independent advisor in the fields of Energy, Infrastructure and Finance. He is on the Board of Directors/Advisory Boards of several companies. He also renders advice to a number of organisations, including, MNCs, Industry Associations and NGOs.
