Biography
Dr. Deepti Gupta is a core faculty member in the Masters in Plant Biotechnology programme at TERI University. She is currently involved in teaching core courses such as Molecular plant physiology and biochemistry, Immunochemistry and Genomics and Molecular Genetics, apart from co-supervising the laboratory course. Her research areas involve studying the role of secondary messengers in abiotic stress signalling in plants using proteomics. She is currently working on a research project titled 'Proteomic Analysis of Exogenous Calcium Induced Signalome under Dehydration in Rice', which was awarded to her under the Young Investigator scheme of the Department of Biotechnology. The research is aimed at dissecting the mechanisms regulating secondary messenger levels and the role played by effector molecules which control the gene expression by secondary messengers and affect the abiotic stress tolerance in plants.
Research Interest
The research will be focused on the laying out the 'Calcium induced signalome' under dehydration in Rice using proteomics and characterization of stress responsive genes.
