Biography
Paramita Datta Dey is Senior Research Officer 1. She has a Masters degree in Geography from the Delhi School of Economics (Delhi University) and a Post- Graduate degree in Planning with specialization in Environmental Planning from the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi. She has over seventeen years experience in the fields of urban development; urban poverty, water & environment; environmental assessments, natural resource management, urban governance and environmental policy issues. Prior to NIUA, she has worked in the Ministry of Environment & Forests, Centre for Science & Environment, Centre for Policy Research and consulting firms. She has contributed in projects / programmes funded by bilateral and multilateral agencies e.g., UNDP, CIDA, World Bank, ADB etc. She has also participated in research in long-term national level urbanization and environmental policy. Several of her research based work have been published as Working Papers and/or Research Papers on various issues related to urban poverty reduction, land tenure, urban sanitation etc.
