Biography

Dr. Swapan Kumar Pradhan is currently working as a Professor in the Department of Department of Physics, The University of Burdwan , India. His research interests includes (i) Synthesis of nanocrystalline materials by mechanical alloying including metals, alloys, metal oxi des, metal carbides, metal nitrides, metal sulfides, quantum dots, ferrites , chalcopyrites, composites , hydroxyapatite etc. (ii) Preparation of metallic alloys and composites by vacuum melting and chemical routes. (i ii ) Str ucture and microstructure char acterization and phase transformation kinetic studies of nanocrystalline materials employing X - ray diffraction using the Rietveld structure and microstructure refinement method and high resolution transmission electron microscopy. (iv) In situ high - tempe rature phase transition and microstructure characterization of polycrystalline/nanocrystalline materials (v ) Measurement of mechanical (microhardness), electrical (AC/DC conductivity) and magnetic (susceptibility, Mossbauer spectroscopy) and optical prope rties to establish structure – property correlations.. He /she is serving as an editorial member and reviewer of several international reputed journals. Dr. Swapan Kumar Pradhan is the member of many international affiliations. He/ She has successfully completed his Administrative responsibilities.
