Biography

Dr. Arup Kumar Chattopadhyay has more than 32 years of teaching/research experience in different academic insti tutions and also professional experience at managerial level in banking industry. Prof Chattopadhyay obtained his Masters in Economics with Statistics & Econometrics from the University of Burdw an and stood first in first class. He obtained his PhD from Vidyas agar University. He has served at Vidyasagar University and at the Department of Commerce at Burdwan University before joining the Department of Economics in 2006. Contributes articles and papers regularly to professional journals, seminars and conferences. Be sides the academic assignments the author has occupied quite a few important positions in b oth administrative and academic fields within and outside the university including being Dean of the F aculty of Arts, Commerce, Management, and Law of the University for nearly 5 years, me mber of the Executive Council and Court of the University and others. He was the member of G overning Bodies of different Under Graduate Colleges and became the President of Shyamsunder Colleg e of Burdwan District. He also acted as member of Executive Councils and Courts of different Universities. He actively participates in different U.G. and P.G. Councils/Boards of Studies for prepa ring & revising course curricula and suggesting examination reforms. He regularly evaluates Ph.D. t heses, reviews research articles and performs examination related usual activities
