Biography
Achievements: Development of Certificate Course on “Ethnobotany” Village Botanists Course to develop the botanical skills among the local communities across 14 states in India. Skill of more than 400 local community members has been built and state specific manuals have been developed. Sustainable harvesting methods for 10 medicinal plant species developed and finalized. Built capacities of around 250 stakeholders including collectors, JFMC members, folk healers, women self-help groups and front line staff of forest department on sustainable harvesting techniques, value addition techniques and, nursery and propagation techniques. These stakeholders are involved in implementation of project activities in respective JFMCs. Involved from the conceptualization to implementation of 15 days residential training programme for 22 participants from 7 Afro-Asian countries which included participants from India, China, Nepal, Pakistan, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
