Khetriwal, Deepali

Biography

Dr. Khetriwal holds a PhD in International Management from the University of St.Gallen, Switzerland. She has over 11 years of experience in the field of sustainable consumption and production, especially on waste and reverse flows of end-of-life products. She has authored several papers in high ranking peer-reviewed journals and spoken at several conferences as an expert. At UNU-IAS since 2008, she has led capacity building activities of the UNU, under the aegis of the StEP Initiative. She has conceptualised and organised the E-waste Academy, that has been held 7 times since 2009. She is also working on several research projects, including a large project under H2020 on secondary critical raw materials from waste. Previously, she has worked as an expert consultant on internationally funded development projects for UNEP, World Bank and EMPA (the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology). She has also worked on European funded projects to support London SMEs improve their environmental performance through resource efficiency and helped set up environmental management systems across diverse range of businesses. She is also a certified auditor for ISO14001 and a member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA, UK).
