Biography

He completed his graduation and post graduation from Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, securing First Rank in the University at the post graduation. He earned his Ph.D. in the year 1997 in the joint fields of Operation Research and Computer Science. He has got a long teaching and research experience since 1990. He is Ph.D. and M.Phil supervisor for many years and many students have completed their research under his guidance. He has delivered many lectures as resource person in various events and also given invited talks in national and international events. He has more than 50 research papers and four books to his credit. He is also engaged in extension activities. He has designed campus Wide Network on the VNSGU campus. Dr. Desai is a Dean of faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology and Chairman Board of Studies (Computer Science). He has attended many International and National conferences. He is and Editor in Chief of VNSGU Journal of Science and Technology and also serving as a member of Editorial board for some of the national and international journals. He has also visited Canada, Italy and USA for various academic programs.

Research Interest

Optical Character Recognition, Image Processing, Computer Graphics, Data Mining and Soft Computing.
