He is an eminent Scientist and former Director of Center for Cellular & Molecular Biology (CCMB), Hyderabad and Prof. & Dean, University of Hyderabad. He was honored "Padma Sri" in 2002 and Chevalierde I' Ordre National de Merite" by President of France in 2002. He holds a PhD.
