Biography
I completed my PhD at the Fission Track Thermochronology Lab, Kurukshetra University Kurukshetra, India, in 2013 (awarded Jan, 2014), where I studied the tectonic and exhumation history of the Higher and Lesser Himalayan Crystallines (LHC: Almora klippe) of Kumaun region of the NW-Himalaya. Please see my publication sections for more information and then I worked as a postdoctoral research fellow (UGC sponsored DS Kothari Fellowship) and am now at WIHG as Scientist ‘B’ since June, 2015. My research is focused on low-temperature thermochronology (Fission Track), Himalayan tectonics, thermal history and provenance study of the Himalayan foreland basin, but simultaneously trying to integrate U-Pb (zircon) geochronology and structural geology into my work. Much of my work with zircon and apatite is aimed to understand the tectonic and exhumation history of Himalaya. Currently, I am looking for research students. If you’re interested in PhD in Geo-Thermochronology to study the evolution and exhumation of the Himalaya. I would be happy to have a dedicated/potential students. Please write to me about your research proposal or fellowship application. I would be happy to talk with you about potential collaboration. The specific research area will depend on student interests and funding of projects involving detrital thermochronology to study coupling/decoupling of tectonics and erosional processes, or U-Pb dating. I may be accept a new student have funding or would like enrol in PhD degree.
Research Interest
Himalayan Tectonics,Exhumation history of Himalyan mountain belt using fission track dating, Ar-Ar dating & U-Pb dating(Zircon) using LA-MC-ICPMS.

Throughout the Himalayan thrust belt, crystalline klippen are questionable due to their connection with the root zone. Three major thrusting models describe the kinematics and the emplacement of the crystalline thrust sheet over the LHS (like tectonic wedge model, extrusion model, Duplexing model). The objective of this project is how the crystalline rocks of HHC was emplaced over the LHS. How these are connected with the roots zone and how they are travelled toward south about hundreds of km along Munsiari Thrust/Main Central Thrust (MT/MCT) or South Tibetan Detachment System (STDS). To answer these questions, I got the funds from the SERB (DST, Govt. of India).
