Shashi Raj Shauq

Biography

Shashi Raj Shauq is a graduate of St. Stephen’s Collage, Delhi. He did his M.A. in Social Work from Indore School of Social Work with specialization in Personnel Management and Industrial Relation. He did a Diploma course in community organization from Indian social Institute, Bangalore, and a Diploma in Labor welfare from Indian School of labor Education (Madras). He started his carrier with the NGO sector serving Raipur Churches Development and Relief committee and Churches Auxiliary for Social Action consecutively for five years and joined Xavier Institute in the year 1983 as a faculty member with the then department of Personnel Management. He at present heads the Human Resource Management course at the Institute and is a visiting faculty at the Shri Krishna Institute of Public Administration, Indian institute of Coal management, and several collages at Ranchi. He teaches General Management, Human Resource Management, Social Work, Structural Analysis of Society, Social justice and social Action and Business Ethics across various courses in the Institute. His academic interests are in Management studies, Development studies, Human rights and Community work. He has visited Indonesia and Pakistan as a resource person and presented a paper on “Value laden management education” at the Sogang university at South Korea. He has two awards to his credit, Dewang Mehta Business School Awards for best teacher in Human Recourses, the Deccan Herald Best B School’s Award for best teacher in Management. He is an accomplished artist painting portraits and landscapes and an avid stage performer singing Ghazals and sufi songs.
