Biography
Dr Tan is the Medical Director of Mahkota Medical Centre Melaka. He graduated with an MBBS from the University of Sydney in 1968. Dr Tan began his career in 1979 as a lecturer and consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology (O&G) in University Malaya. Moving on, he then started his own private practice as a consultant in O&G in 1980 in Malacca. In 1990, he was elected as a Fellow of Royal College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (London). A person who is keen to impart his knowledge to others, Dr Tan has also been lecturing part time in Melaka Manipal Medical College since year 2000 and was member of the Board of Directors in Southern Hospital until year 2007.Bringing with him his extensive experience in his field, he joined Mahkota Medical Centre Melaka in year 2004 as a consultant in O&G.
Research Interest
Subsequently, in 2006, he was appointed Medical Director and Person In Charge of Mahkota Medical Centre Melaka. He advised the Board of Management on clinical issues and the observant of healthcare act. An active person in his field of specialization, Dr Tan is a life member of the Malaysian Medical Association, past president of the Rotary Club of Melaka and Family Planning Association Melaka. Dr Tan was awarded the AMN title by Yang Dipertuan Agong and the PJK title by Malacca State Government for Community Service.
