Biography
EXPERIENCE: Appointed Independent Non-Executive Director in March 2010, Senior Independent Director in April 2017 and Member of the Ethics & Compliance Committee in October 2014. He was formerly Chairman of the Audit Committee from May 2010 to March 2017. Ian is a Chartered Accountant with considerable financial experience both internationally and in the UK. He was a Partner at KPMG, latterly Senior Partner, London, until 2008. At KPMG, he was Head of UK tax and legal operations. Previously he was Chairman of WSP Group plc, NED and Chairman of the Audit Committees of The Brunner Investment Trust PLC, Foxtons Group plc and Urban&Civic plc. Ian’s longstanding financial and auditing career, along with his extensive board experience provide the expertise required as a Senior Independent Director. He will support the Chairman and in particular take an active role in succession planning. His work for a number of international companies gives added insight when reviewing our global businesses
