Ahmad Arzani

Biography

 Ahmad Arzani is professor of Plant Breeding at Isfahan University of Technology, Isfahan, Iran. Ahmad completed his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Tehran, majoring Crop Sciences. Following his graduation of Master of Science degree in Plant Breeding at Isfahan University of Technology (IUT), where appointed as instructor and he awarded a PhD scholarship to pursue his study at the University of Sydney, Ahmad returned to apply his skills in the Iranian plant breeding field at the IUT. His work in breeding of cereal crops concentrates in two main areas: improvement for resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses, and the identification and introgression of useful genetic variation of wild grass plants into cereal crops. In 2001-2 and 2014-15 he spent his two sabbatical years at Colorado State University and University of California-Davis as visiting professor, respectively. Ahmad has published over 200 national and international journal papers. He also published three review papers two of which published recently (2016 and 2017). He contributed to three edited books as well.
