Biography

  Sri P C Mohapatra, assumed charge as Director (Projects) of RINL, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant today. He had 34 years of rich experience in Projects, Operation and Maintenance in Steel and Power sectors. Sri Mohapatra is a Mechanical Engineering graduate of 1980 batch from REC, Rourkela, presently an NIT. Before assuming Director (Projects), Sri Mohapatra served as ED(Projects) in VSP. After graduation, Sri P C Mohapatra has joined BHEL in the year 1980 as Graduate Engineer Trainee and worked in M/s BHEL for 8 years in various capacities. During his service at M/s BHEL, he was involved in Power Project Erection& Commissioning of different BHEL Power Plants in India varying from 22 MW to 500 MW units and earned rich knowledge in Erection& Commissioning of Thermal Power Plants. In December 1988, he joined Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and served in various positions right from Deputy Manager to Executive Director. He looked after Operation & Maintenance of Thermal Power Plant, stat-of-the-art Rolling Mills at VSP. Later for four years, he spearheaded the Maintenance of the total Plant. As ED (Projects), Sri PC Mohapatra was in-charge for 6.3 Million Ton per Annum expansion units erection and commissioning along with major Modernisation/Upgradation projects.
