Biography

Mr McConway graduated from Queen’s University Belfast in 1998.  He trained in Trauma and Orthopaedics in the Northern Ireland Higher Surgical Training Programme for 6 years.  He spent 1 1/2 years in full time research, sponsored by the Belfast Arthroplasty Research Trust.  He successfully completed the FRCS (Trauma & Orthopaedics) examination in 2011. Mr McConway further increased his upper limb skills with a 1 year post training fellowship in Shoulder & Elbow Surgery in Scotland’s Tertiary referral centre for Shoulder & Elbow in Glasgow Royal Infirmary. He has also completed an 18 month fellowship in primary hip replacement. Mr McConway is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association and the British Elbow and Shoulder Society. Mr McConway is a full time NHS Consultant in The Ulster Hospital Dundonald and Musgrave Park Hospital Belfast. His main special interests are:
