Biography
Dr. C. David Nicholson, B.S., Ph.D., has been the Chief R&D Officer at Allergan plc since March 17, 2015 and has been its Executive Vice President since May 9, 2017. Dr. Nicholson served as Head of Brand R&D at Allergan plc since March 17, 2015. Dr. Nicholson served as Executive Vice President of Brand R&D of Allergan plc since March 17, 2015 and served as its Senior Vice President of Actavis Global Brands R&D since August 4, 2014. Dr. Nicholson served as the Head of Research & Development at Bayer CropScience AG since March 1, 2012 until July 31, 2014. Dr. Nicholson served as the Program Vice President of CV and CNS R&D (cardiovascular and central nervous system research and development) at Organon's Oss, Netherlands. He has been in research and development in the pharmaceutical industry since 1978. He worked for Beecham at research facility in Germany in 1978. In 1988, he joined Organon BioSciences in Newhouse, Scotland, where he served as the Pharmacology Department Head and Executive Vice President, Research & Development. From 1993 to 2002, he worked in Organon's Oss, Netherlands, headquarters. Dr. Nicholson served an executive positions in R&D at Merck Inc. He spent more than 10 years of his professional career in Germany and the Netherlands. He served as Head of Research in the Netherlands; Head of Global Research and Head of Research and Development for Organon's Oss. Based in New Jersey since 2002, he joined Schering-Plough following its acquisition of Organon in 2007. He served as Vice President Licensing and Knowledge Management at Merck in Rahway, New Jersey, USA, from 2009 to December 2011. He joined Merck in 2009.

He served as Senior Vice President of Global. He has been an Independent Director of Actinium Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since 2008. He serves as a Director at Endotis Pharma SA. He served as a Director of Cactus Ventures, Inc. since December 28, 2012. Dr. Nicholson graduated with B.S. in Pharmacology from the University of Manchester in 1975 and Ph.D. from the University of Wales in 1980.
