Kathleen Cronin

Biography

I attended the National University of Ireland, Galway for medical school.  I trained with the Royal College of Physicians, Ireland, in Palliative Medicine. I have worked in places like St. Vincent’s Hospital, St Luke’s Hospital, Galway University Hospital, Milford Hospice, Marymount Hospice, and Our Lady’s Hospice Dublin.  I have gained a vast amount of experience dealing with patientswith life-limiting disease. I have been a Palliative Consultant for three years, and have worked as a Locum Consultant in the Midlands, Mayo and Galway.  I also have a special interest in clinical education, and I am a clinical tutor for NUIG in the Portiuncula Academy, Ballinasloe. I am interested in helping patients with life-limiting disease to live as actively as possible through impeccable assessment and treatment of pain and other symptoms.  I have a good working relationship with the Community Palliative Care Home Teams, as well as allied oncology colleagues.
