Biography
Eileen Brennan received her BA and MA from University College Dublin and her Habilitation au Doctorat and Doctorat en Philosophie from the Institut Catholique de Paris. She has held lectureships at Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin. She is co-editorial director with Jean-Luc Amalric of the international peer-reviewed academic journal, Études Ricœuriennes /Ricœur Studies, which is published by the University of Pittsburgh. She writes in the areas of philosophical hermeneutics, theories of justice, and the philosophy of education and has translated works by Paul Ricœur, Jean Greisch, Dominique Janicaud, and Julia Kristeva. She is currently co-Treasurer of the Society for Women in Philosophy (Ireland), a member of the Board of Directors of the international, interdisciplinary Society for Ricoeur Studies, and acting Research Convenor for the School of Human Development, Dublin City University. She is also a former recipient of the Fondation Irlandaise Scholarship
