Biography
Dr Mark Philbin work as a lecturer in Health & Society in the School of Nursing & Human Sciences, DCU. His background includes mental health nursing, strengths-based therapy, nurse education and qualitative research. Over recent years, he became increasingly interested in the varied use of drugs in contemporary societies, issues of freedom and responsibility as they relate to health, ideas of health citizenship and activism, creative approaches to health communication, and the ways in which cycling can contribute to well-being and social involvement. These interests provide the scope for his current teaching, research and practical activities.
