Biography
Fiona Lyng holds a BSc (Physics/Chemistry) from Trinity College Dublin and a PhD from University College Dublin. She has held postdoctoral research positions at Daresbury Laboratory UK, University College Cork and Dublin Institute of Technology and is currently Head of the DIT Centre for Radiation and Environmental Science where she leads a team of 14 researchers. She has published 100 peer reviewed journal papers, has a h index of 31 and has filed 4 patents. She has supervised 2 MSc/MPhil and 25 PhD students to completion and has successfully won over €3 million in research funding as PI plus over €20 million in research funding as partner. She won the Enterprise Ireland ‘One to Watch’ Award in 2011 and was awarded an Honorary Professorship of DIT in 2012.
