Biography

Amadou Ba is a Research Staff Member with the Smarter Cities Technology Centre, in IBM's Dublin Research Lab. His main research interests include control theory, system identification and signal processing. He received his Ph.D. in Control Theory and Signal Processing from Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts et Metiers de Paris (Arts et Metiers ParisTech), France in 2010. From 2006 to 2011 he worked as a control systems engineer at Schlumberger, first in France and then in the United Kingdom, where he contributed to the development of approaches dedicated to monitor, in real-time, drilling robots. His works were based on control systems using Bayesian statistics and learning algorithms. He has published over 15 papers, reviewed several papers (IEEE, IFAC), chaired several sessions at international conferences and filed 2 US patents.
