Biography
Prior to commencing a career in Clinical research in 1996 Ruth trained as a Registered General Nurse and Midwife. She was awarded an MSC from Trinity College Dublin in 2004 for her Thesis work entitled “The ethics of genetics in clinical trials”. She also holds Diplomas in Management, Sales and Marketing from UCD. Ruth co-founded Java Clinical Research Ltd with Professor Desmond Fitzgerald in 1999. As Company Director she has overall responsibility for the business operations which includes client negotiations, strategic planning, implementing company policy, controlling the finances and building and maintaining an effective team. Ruth also lectures in the post graduate Clinical Research courses in both Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin.
