Biography
Fr. John was born in Brooklyn, New York on November 20 1957 and grew up in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish. He attended the parish school there and decided to pursue a vocation as a Redemptorist priest. He graduated from St. Alphonsus College in Suffield, Connecticut with a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy. He graduated from Mount St. Alphonsus Seminary in Esopus, New York with a Master’s degree in Religious Education and then obtained a Master’s degree in Divinity from Washington Theological Union in Washington, D.C. He was ordained a priest on May 9, 1992 at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. Fr. John has had a number of pastoral assignments in Redemptorist parishes in the eastern part of the United States and the Caribbean. He ministered in a number of parishes on the island of Dominica in the Lower Antilles and on St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands. He also ministered in parishes in Baltimore, Maryland and is presently the pastor of Our Mother of Perpetual Help parish in Ephrata, Pa. Fr. John has served on Lancaster Catholic’s School Board for the past seven years.
