Biography

Father Peter I. Hahn was born and raised in Lancaster in Saint Anne’s Parish, graduating from Lancaster Catholic High School in 1974.  He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics, cum laude, in 1978 from the University of Pittsburgh and his Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1981.  He practiced law for 14 years in Philadelphia and Lancaster, in the area of civil litigation.  He served on the Board of Directors of LCHS from 1987-1995, and during that time, was active in Saint Anne Parish as Catechist, Lector and member of Parish Council.   In 1995, Father Hahn began his formal discernment of a call to the Priesthood.  He received a Masters of Divinity from Saint John XXIII National Seminary in Weston, MA and was ordained a Priest for the Diocese of Harrisburg on June 1, 2002.  He served as a Parochial Vicar at Saint Joseph’s Parish in Mechanicsburg, PA from 2002-2003 and then, as Pastor of Saint Peter’s Parish in Columbia, PA from 2003-2008.  In June 2008, he was appointed Pastor of Saint Leo the Great Parish in Lancaster.   He has served the Diocese as a member of the Priests Personnel Board, the College of Consultors, and currently as Dean of the Southern Lancaster Deanery.  He has served on the LCHS Board since 2003 as the President of the Board of Directors from 2015-2017, and continues to serve as the Chair of the Pastoral Members of LCHS.
