Biography
Jonathan Barnsley has been Executive Vice-President, Technical Operations since April 2014. Before joining Ipsen, Jonathan was Senior Vice-President, Biotech Manufacturing & Process Development at Merck Serono. Jonathan has acquired a broad range of experience in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry at an international level (notably within Beecham Pharmaceuticals Ltd, GD Searle Company Ltd, Celltech Ltd, Biocompatibles Ltd, and GSK). Prior to joining Ipsen he spent 18 years within Merck Serono, where he held various leadership positions in corporate engineering and manufacturing. In 2000, he became Site Director of the Merck Serono Biotech Center (Vevey, Switzerland). In 2007, he was appointed Senior Vice President of Biotech Manufacturing with responsibility for six manufacturing sites, and from 2013 Senior Vice-President, Biotech Manufacturing & Process Development. In his role at Ipsen Jonathan is responsible for global manufacturing, including development of processes for our peptide and toxin platforms. In addition Jonathan has direct responsibility for a number of global support functions: Purchasing, Quality, EHS, Supply Chain and Technical Services.
