Biography
Joseph Fournier is a Spine Surgeon with international fellowship training in both adult and paediatric spine surgery including paediatric spinal deformity. He also has specific training in spinal pain management procedures. He studied medicine in France with one year in Trinity College Dublin. Following his basic surgical training he completed his higher orthopaedic surgical training receiving a prize for best result in France Greater Western Region for the final exam. After spending two years sharing time between national research institute and duties as an attending trauma surgeon in a Level 1 Trauma Centre he was appointed for two years as a paediatric orthopaedic consultant in the Clocheville Paediatric Hospital in Tours. Following this Joseph completed the national spinal deformity fellowship in Edinburgh, Scotland, one of the largest centres for deformity by volume in the UK. He then undertook the spinal fellowship in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, covering all aspect of adult spinal surgery.
