Biography
Gerda Dewit obtained her PhD in Economics in 1996 from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KUL). Before joining the department of Economics, Finance and Accounting at Maynooth University in 2000, she was a lecturer in Economics at the University of Glasgow (1996-2000). Since 2010, she has been affiliated to the Leuven Centre for Irish Studies at KUL as a Senior Researcher. Her main research fields are International Trade and Industrial Organisation. She is especially interested in the following topics: firm location, economic integration and globalisation, tax competition, labour standards, strategic behaviour in trade and foreign direct investment.
