Biography
Dr. Slingerland studied physics and mathematics at Utrecht University, obtaining an M.Sc. in theoretical Physics under supervision of Erik Verlinde in 1998. He also studied Music at the Utrecht School of the Arts. From 1998, he did research in theoretical physics at the University of Amsterdam, under supervision of Prof. Sander Bais and obtained a Ph.D. in 2002 (thesis title: Hopf Symmetry and its Breaking; Braid Statistics and Confinement in Planar Physics.)
