Carol Surface joined Medtronic as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer in September 2013. In her role, Carol leads Medtronic's human resources strategy for 85,000+ employees worldwide. She also provides leadership for Global Communications, Philanthropy and Community Affairs, and Global Health Initiatives. In these roles her key focus areas include enterprise talent management and succession planning, leadership development, diversity and inclusion, executive compensation, internal and external stakeholder engagement, reputation management, and community and health initiatives.Carol is also published in professional and academic journals, including Psychological Assessmentand Advances in Developing Human Resources.
