Biography
Camilla has been working in community education since the 1990s. She has worked with women's groups, vocational groups, residents groups and campaign groups all as part of wider community development initiatives. She describes herself as a critical feminist and has a particular interest in community education. Her upcoming publication Community Education and Neoliberalism: philosophies, practices and politics in Ireland is due to be released in January, 2017. Camilla is interested in equality and social justice work and is currently involved in three research projects. These are: Unlocking Freedom through adult and community education - an Erasmus+ project that seeks greater access and accommodation for people with intellectual disabilities in adult, community and Further Education; He4U2 - another Erasmus + project that seeks to improve curricular quality in higher education to ensure inclusion and accommodation for people for ethnically and culturally diverse student populations. She has also conducted research on anti-Muslim racism in Ireland and is collaboratively designing workshops on this topic for delivery in adult, community and Further education contexts.
