Biography
Marian currently works as a senior lead researcher in IVI, with responsibilities for managing aspects of the IVI research agenda. She has lead a number of projects associated with the development of IT-CMF and worked as project manager for development of SME IT-CMF - a project which tailored the framework to the Small and Medium-Sized Industry context. She has recently worked as co-editor and co-author of ‘IT-CMF: the body of knowledge guide’, a comprehensive documentation of the IT-CMF body of knowledge. Marian was also a member of the project teams who worked on the development of a European Framework for ICT Professionalism during 2011-2012, and a report centred on the international dimension of e-skills and the impact of globalisation during 2013-2014 – both research projects undertaken on behalf of the Directorate General of Enterprise and Industry, European Commission. Prior to this position, Marian taught in the University of Limerick, Limerick Institute of Technology, and Griffith College. She has completed MSc and PhD research, both of which were funded by Irish Research Council for Science, Engineering and Technology (IRCSET) scholarships. Marian’s research interests centre on topics such as Design Science and engaged scholarship, drivers and challenges surrounding the realisation of business value by SMEs, and the leveraging of business value through organisational digital transformation. She has presented her research at numerous national and international conferences and invited seminars, and published in several peer reviewed academic journals.
