Biography
Adam Winstanley graduated from Cambridge University with a degree in Natural Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computing) and Archaeology. He worked as an archaeologist and cartographer with Ordnance Survey Northern Ireland for several years. He gained an MSc and PhD in Computer Science from Queen's University Belfast in 1987 and 1991 respectively. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at University of Ulster on tools for analysing process-oriented software specifications. He was a lecturer at Queen's University before taking up post at Maynooth in 1995. he has been Head of the Department of Computer Science since 2007.
