Biography
Dr Tomasz Zawadzki is a senior postdoctoral researcher on the Building City Dashboards project at the National Centre for Geocomputation (NCG). He is currently examining alternative and multi-modal dashboard platforms; including 3D modelling for virtual, mixed, and augmented reality. Previously, he worked as a VR specialist for EvoVRLab in the Netherlands (2016). From 2014 to 2016, he was Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Architecture, Design & Fine Arts at the Girne American University, Cyprus. In 2011, he completed his Ph.D. studies at the University of Zielona Góra, Poland, with the support of the European Social Fund Ph.D. scholarship (2008-2009 and 2012-2014) and a Polish National Centre Ph.D. grant (2011-2013). His Ph.D. dissertation (completed in 2014) “Shape grammar and morphing hybrid for procedural modelling of three-dimensional objects” combined joint computer graphics methods and procedural techniques into an innovative concept for a hybrid 3D system which could be adapted in many areas of global research and industry. He conducted part of his Ph.D. research as a visiting scholar in 2013 at the Florida Institute of Technology, USA. Tomasz participated at e.media 2012, the 3rd International Summer School on Media Informatics and Computer Graphics, at the University of Applied Sciences in Giessen, Germany. He has published over 20 peer-reviewed papers that have been included in international conference proceedings, journals, and book chapters.
