Biography
Barry Hayes is a Lecturer and Researcher in Electrical & Electronic Engineering in the College of Engineering and Informatics. Before joining NUI Galway in September 2016, Barry was a Marie Sklodowska-Curie research fellow at the IMDEA Energy Institute, Madrid, Spain, where he contributed to European and national research projects in the area of power systems and smart grids. He holds a PhD from the University of Edinburgh (2013), and was a visiting researcher at National Grid UK (2011) and at the CURENT Institute for Future Energy Networks, University of Tennessee (2016). He also worked in industry as an engineer at Intel from 2005-2009.
Research Interest
Barry's research interests are in intelligent monitoring and control systems applied to various problems in electrical and electronic engineering.
