Biography
Clare joined the Discipline of Speech and Language Therapy at NUI Galway in November 2005, bringing her experience and passion for speech and language therapy to the team. She obtained her professional qualification in 1996 and gained a wealth of experience working with the Health Service Executive and in private practice. Clare worked in a variety of clinical settings with a wide range of client groups. While working as a Senior Speech and Language therapist with the HSE, Clare established her interest in early intervention services which aim to facilitate young children with developmental delays and/or disabilities reach their full potential. Clare is interested in lifelong learning and completed a MSc in Advanced Practice in Speech and Language Therapy. Her Masters dissertation investigated parents' perceptions of speech and language therapy services. She also completed courses in counseling skills and participatory research.
Research Interest
Research interests include early intervention disability services, integrated care, team working, and children's perspectives.
