Biography
Philip Dine is a Personal Professor and Head of French at the National University of Ireland, Galway. He is the author of Images of the Algerian War: French Fiction and Film, 1954-1992 (Oxford, Clarendon Press/OUP, 1994). He has published widely on representations of the French colonial empire, including particularly decolonisation, in fields ranging from children’s literature to professional sport.
Research Interest
French colonial history, particularly representations of decolonisation, French representations of the Mediterranean.
