Biography
Born 1958 Akihiro Taguchi graduated 1980 in the Faculty of Engineering at the Musashi Institute of Technology in Tokyo, Japan. Right after finishing his study he joined Olympus Optical Co. Ltd (renamed Olympus Corporation in 2003). From 2002 until 2008 he spent six years in Europe as Director Winter & Ibe in Hamburg, Germany and from 2004 onward as Managing Director at Olympus Winter & Ibe GmbH. In April 2008 he returned to Tokyo taking over the position as Division Manager R&D of Olympus Medical Systems Corp. In June 2010 he was appointed as Director and Member of the Board of Olympus Medical Systems Corp. Simultaneously he assumed the role as Executive Officer of Olympus Corporation. In April 2012 he was promoted to President of Olympus Medical Systems Corp. and Senior Executive Managing Officer of Olympus Corporation. In addition to this role Akihiro Taguchi took over the position as Head of Sales Group of Olympus Corporation in April 2015.
