Biography
Born 1967 in Vienna, Michael Speiser graduated in mechanical engineering and business administration at the Technical University Vienna. He started his professional career in 1994 at an Austrian mechanical engineering company and became Managing Director in 1998. He joined Olympus in 2005 as Managing Director for the Olympus Austria subsidiary and in 2006 also assumed responsibility for Olympus’s Adriatic subsidiaries (Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Serbia and Macedonia). Thereafter he became General Manager and then Managing Director for Medical Systems at Olympus Germany. From 2011 onwards he additionally became Managing Director for the Microscopy, Industrial and Consumer Products business divisions at Olympus Germany, Austria and Switzerland. With the establishment of the CENTRAL region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands) within Olympus Europe in 2012 he was appointed Regional Managing Director. In October 2014 he also became Managing Director Scientific Solutions for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
