Biography
Daniel Laster, JD, is responsible for bringing cohesion to the operations functions at PATH to more effectively and efficiently support the delivery of our project and institutional work globally. Mr. Laster directly oversees legal and research affairs, awards, and business development departments; leads our governance and compliance efforts; and provides strategic support to our commercialization work. Before joining PATH, Mr. Laster was an associate professor of law for the University of Washington and acted as an intellectual property expert witness as well as provided independent counsel to various Fortune 500 companies. His career also includes serving as associate general counsel for the Microsoft Corporation and working in private practice at the law firms of Stokes Lawrence and Perkins Coie. In addition, he has served on numerous boards. Mr. Laster received his BA in economics from Penn State University and his JD from University of Michigan School of Law; he was a visiting student at Harvard Law School.
