Biography
As vice president of Global Engagement and Communications, Mark Murray oversees PATH’s brand, communications, policy and advocacy, philanthropy, and strategic corporate engagements. He manages teams responsible for telling the story of PATH’s work internally and externally, supporting the efforts of governments and policymakers around the world to adopt healthy policies, and inspiring donors and corporations to partner with us and support our work. Mr. Murray is also currently serving as interim director of Philanthropic Development. Mr. Murray is a global communications leader with extensive experience in both government and the corporate sector. He has a strong background in strategic planning and execution, public affairs and issues management, digital and social communications channels, and corporate communications. Mr. Murray served as press secretary, legislative director, and chief of staff to US Representative Don Bonker, who chaired the Foreign Affairs subcommittees on Human Rights and International Organizations and Trade and Economic Development. He also served as communications director, speechwriter, and deputy chief of staff to Seattle Mayor Norm Rice. Most recently, before joining PATH in 2015, he served in a number of senior communications roles at Microsoft, including citizenship communications, global public affairs communications, corporate digital channels, and international communications across more than 100 countries. Mr. Murray has a BA in political science from Stanford University.
