Philippe Guinot

Biography

 Philippe Guinot is PATH’s country director for Europe and West Africa. Previously he served as country director for Senegal, managing all operations in the country from an overall coordination standpoint, strategy development, relation with authorities, and representation. He is also the coordinator of MACEPA (Malaria Control and Elimination Program in Africa)—PATH’s largest program in Senegal. In addition, Mr. Guinot serves as the president of ONGIS, an association of approximately 30 international nongovernmental organizations in Senegal. Mr. Guinot has a wealth of experience in the public and private sectors as well as a strong knowledge of the health field in Senegal. Prior to joining PATH in 2013, he served as director of innovation and partnerships at the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), where he simultaneously held the role of Senegal country representative. At GAIN, he was responsible for managing private partnerships to enable innovative product solutions along the agriculture-nutrition value chain. Prior to that, Mr. Guinot worked for nearly 15 years in the pharmaceutical sector in both finance and marketing, including as the international business leader in charge of all commercial and marketing activities for a phase 3 product developed by Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd. Mr. Guinot was a member of the Stop TB Partnership’s Global Drug Facility business advisory committee from 2008 to 2013, providing strategic input for the international procurement of tuberculosis medicines. Mr. Guinot has an MBA with a concentration in controlling from the INSEEC School of Business in Bordeaux, France, and extensive experience working in Senegal, France, Switzerland, Brazil, Australia, and the United States.

Research Interest

Mr. Guinot worked for nearly 15 years in the pharmaceutical sector and has provided strategic input for the international procurement of tuberculosis medicines.
