Ms. Veronica Treacy

Biography

Veronica is a former Director of Pharmacy and superintendent pharmacist for St James’ Hospital, Our Lady’s Hospice and St Luke’s Hospital in Dublin.  She co-ordinated the PSI project that culminated in the 'Future Pharmacy Practice in Ireland- Meeting Patients’ Needs' report, published by the PSI in November 2016. She has contributed to previous PSI projects including the PSI Inspection Policy Project Expert Group (2014), the National Forum for Pharmacy Education and Accreditation (2013/2014), and as a Steering Group member for the baseline study for hospital pharmacy (2011). Veronica graduated with a BSc. Pharm from University College, Dublin, and registered as a pharmacist in 1977. She has a Master of Business Administration (1996) and a Certificate of Pharmacy Practice (1999), achieved while working as a principal pharmacist in the NHS in the UK, where she gained extensive operation management, risk management, public procurement, and clinical pharmacy experience. Veronica is a past president of the Hospital Pharmacists Association.
